The Santa Monica Democratic Club welcomes Lane Dilg as the new Interim City Manager, and we thank the City Council for their wisdom in making this unanimous decision. As City Attorney, including her work in recent weeks at the Emergency Operations Center, Ms. Dilg has demonstrated great dedication to this city where she lives, and it is hard to imagine a more well prepared person to take on the difficult challenges our city now faces. We look forward to working with her in the months and years ahead to come to keep Santa Monica a wonderful place to live.

The Executive Board would also like to thank Rick Cole for his service and contributions as City Manager since 2015. We sincerely wish Mr. Cole all the best in his future endeavors.

During these trying times for our community, the Santa Monica Democratic Club stands in support of the difficult decisions our City Council is making to respond to the COVID-19 crisis. As a civic organization dedicated to social justice for all of our neighbors, we will do everything we can to help support our elected and appointed officials and work with them for the sake of the future of the city we love.
