July 28: Asm. Alex Lee on Social Housing
Our California legislature is filled with so many interesting and unique perspectives who make our state great. One such assemblymember is Alex Lee (李天明), who represents AD25 (Milpitas, San Jose) He serves his community by fighting to address the growing issues in housing, homelessness, traffic, education, and climate change.
Lee currently serves as the youngest legislator in the state at just 26 years old. In addition to being California’s first Gen-Z legislator and the youngest Asian-American legislator, Lee is also the state’s first openly bisexual legislator.
Previously, he worked for California State Senator Henry Stern in Sacramento and Assemblymember Evan Low. Lee is a co-author of AB1400, single-payer healthcare, as well as AB387 which would allow the state to develop social housing as a solution to our statewide housing crisis.
