October 20: Responding to the Climate Crisis

It’s a refrain we’ve heard for decades now: “The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report contains the most dire warnings yet for humanity.”
In 2021, the IPCC report confirmed that human activity is linked to the extreme weather patterns we have been seeing recently around the world. We are on track to pass 1.5ºC of warming by 2040, and edging ever closer to irreversible tipping points.
What are we going to do about it? What is our role as the Democratic Party to ensure a fossil fuel-free future? If we don’t take extreme, immediate actions, it may be too late for our planet.
Joining us to discuss these questions about how we should be responding to this climate emergency:
Igor Tregub – CDP Environmental Caucus Chair
Loraine Lundquist – Astrophysicist, Educator, and former LA City Council candidate
Aura Vasquez – CDP Executive Board Member, AD50
Fatima Iqbal-Zubair – 2022 Assembly Candidate (AD64), Vice Chair of CDP Progressive Caucus
More guests to be announced soon!
We will also be joined by Chief of Police at LAX Cecil Rhambo, running as a Democrat for LA County Sheriff in 2022.
Send us your questions for these panelists: reply to this email with your questions and we will ask them to our guests.
