This Wednesday, April 27, we will host our final meeting before the June 7 primary. First, we will host our biannual Judicial Candidates Forum, in which all candidates running for a judge position at LA Superior Court will have the opportunity to address the Membership. We will also hear from one last candidate – LA County Assessor Jeffrey Prang.

Then, we will consider endorsements for all of the races which will appear on our June 7 ballot. Members in good standing will be able to speak on behalf of their preferred candidates. Finally, the ballots will be distributed and the Membership will vote.

During the voting window, we will be joined by Senator Ben Allen for a Q&A on the latest news from Sacramento, moderated by Programs VP Melissa Goodman.

Executive Board Recommendations

Last week, the SMDC Executive Committee met to consider recommendations to the Membership in advance of the endorsement meeting on Wednesday. 

These recommendations were made by the majority of the Executive Committee based on the candidates’ appearances over the past few months.
