Thank you to all who joined us last night, whether it was your first meeting or you’ve been a member since the 70s! We were so grateful to be in community again with our fellow Democrats after these harrowing few weeks.
We were joined by four candidates seeking statewide office last night: Former Representative Katie Porter (candidate for Governor), CA Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday (candidate for Lieutenant Governor), San Diego USD Trustee Richard Barrera (candidate for Superintendent), and Sam Sukaton (candidate for Board of Equalization).
In Case You Missed It 👀, you can watch the whole meeting on YouTube here:
If you would like to help plan our upcoming Sammy Awards, we are assembling a committee to help with various elements such as fundraising, graphic design, sponsorship outreach, day-of coordination, and promotion. If you are interested in contributing, please reply to this email and we will follow up with next steps.
Our next monthly Membership Meeting will be on February 25, 6:30pm, at the Church In Ocean Park. We’ll be joined by former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra (Governor candidate), Oliver Ma (Lieutenant Governor candidate), and Senator Stephen Bradford (Insurance Commissioner candidate).
We will also welcome our own Mayor Caroline Torosis for an update from City Council on the Renaissance Plan and her vision for Santa Monica in the year ahead.
