Next Wednesday, April 22, marks the 56th anniversary of Earth Day, and at this critical moment for climate policy, our Club will be hosting a timely and urgent conversation on environmental justice.
Join us for a special panel on how the Trump Administration’s anti-climate agenda is impacting frontline and marginalized communities, both nationally and here in Santa Monica. The conversation will be moderated by Santa Monica City Councilmember and environmental attorney Ellis Raskin.
We will be joined by:
– Loraine Lundquist, astrophysicist and CSU Northridge professor
– Cris Gutierrez, Co-Founder/Advisor of Climate Action Santa Monica
– Bob Ramirez, President of the Kuruvungna Springs Foundation
– Alison Hahm, staff attorney at National Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
We are also pleased to welcome Jake Levine, candidate for U.S. House in CA32 and former Senior Director for Climate and Energy on President Biden’s National Security Council, who will join the evening’s conversation. Please note: SMDC does not make endorsements in this congressional district.
And, we will hold our annual SMDC Executive Board election!
